Principles of Transparency and Best Practice

The URL address of journal web site is http://eng.jksas.or.kr/.

The official journal title is Journal of the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences (hereinafter "JKSAS").
Abbreviated title is J. Korean Soc. Aeronaut. Space Sci.

When a paper manuscript is received by KSAS, the editors of JKSAS shall select an editor whose specialties befit of the paper most after the plagiarism-checking process. The selected editor will initiate the manuscript-review process, by appointing more than 2 reviewers. Any person in the same interest group with the manuscript author shall be excluded during the reviewer selection process.

Upon acceptance of a journal article, authors will be asked to complete and sign the 'Author's copyright transfer' form [Download-korean (.hwp)] / [Download-english (.docx)].
All copyrights belong to the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences. Copyright information is indicated on all published articles.

The author should pay the publishing fee as specified for the paper being published in the Journal of KSAS. In addition, for any paper manuscript exceeding the regulated pages or of the research performed with assistance funding, the author should pay the publishing fee for the exceeded pages in addition to the publishing fee as specified. The publishing fee includes the review process costs.

When the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as Fabrication, Falsification, Plagiarism, Duplicate publication, and Misrepresentation of authorship, the discussion and decision on the suspected cases are carried out by the Editorial Board based on the Code of Research Ethics of the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences.

JKSAS is accessible without barrier from Korea Citation Index or National Library of Korea even in case that the journal would be no longer published.

Revenue sources of JKSAS are from the support of the journal publisher (The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences) and the grant from Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) funded by the government of the Republic of Korea. In addition, article publication fee charged to authors is a source of income which is utilized in maintaining the printing cost. A small revenue comes from advertising.

JKSAS accepts advertisement and sponsorship which appear in the printed copies of the journal. Any individual and organization who are interested in advertising are encouraged to contact the editorial office. The acceptance of advertisement will be discussed by the editorial board and will be ultimately approved by the publisher. The publisher reserves the right to decline or cancel any advertisement at any time.

Journal propagation has been done through the journal web site and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Invitations to submit a manuscript are usually focused on the presenters at conferences, seminars, or workshops if the topic is related to the journal's aims and scope.
